The second edition of "Behind PlanPhilly" will take place on Tuesday, June 12, and will be a moderated panel discussion that explores how Philadelphia might approach land banking and vacant property reform.
The panel will be the first on-the-record discussion between the mayoral administration, City Council, the development community, and the non-profit sector on the potential impact of pending legislation on citizens, neighborhood organizations, and city tax and revenue functionality. This will be a timely conversation, as the Sanchez-Green land banking bill will be discussed at City Council in June. Prize-winning journalist Patrick Kerkstra will moderate the conversation.
Panelists include:
- Maria D. Quiñones-Sánchez, City Councilwoman and land bank bill co-sponsor
- Bridget Collins-Greenwald, the City’s soon-to-be-named new Property Commissioner
- Sandy Salzman, Executive Director, New Kensington Community Development Corporation
- Anne Fadullon, Vice President, Building Industry Association
Refreshments (food and drink) will be provided.
As part of our efforts at PlanPhilly to have a more engaged role in local design and planning news – not just covering, but working to advance it – PlanPhilly will be organizing events throughout the year that give Philadelphians a deeper look at relevant issues in the built environment and what their role is in shaping it.
